Nespresso machine for £1 (subscription required)
Now this one is a little different to the recent freebies and is dependant on you taking out a 12 months subscription. This is perfect for the coffee lover and medium to heavy coffee drinkers.

How it works. Go to the site here  https://www.nespresso.com/uk/en/subscription and choose the machine/ubscription you want. The lowest is £18 per month, however this fee is automatically converted into store credit which you can use to buy pods, cakes or cups. So if you would have been buying the pods anyway its a fantastic deal. Could be good for small offices as well.

Oh, and if you do not use the credits each month, dont worry, as they can accumulate in your account and can be used up to 2 years after the 12 month subscription ends. With this you could be a light drinker and get a machine for a pound and have enough credit to last a year or two!

UK - Free bread from Iceland
Another freebie. Warburtons are celebrating their new and wider range, by offering free loaves of bread from Iceland. Two to choose from, Half and Half 800g medium or Half and Half 800g toastie loaf

Access the coupon from here Free Bread and either print or download. You can print as many copies as you want. It does state one free loaf per customer, however there is nothing stopping you from going several times or getting family members to get some as well.

If this isn't something you could use yourself, you could always get some and donate it to your local foodbank. After all, it will cost you nothing and you could help someone else out.

Online shopping tip
When shopping online, whether on a major retailers site or on eBay, try this easy tip.

Firstly, make sure you set up an online account with the retailer. This is normally just a case of entering your details and an email address. Confirm your email address and ensure that you are logged in.

The next step is easy, just go browsing through the products you are interested in, and add any items you like to your basket. This works the same on eBay, do not use buy it now, just add to your basket. Then simply leave the site without completing the purchase.

Some sites will give an immediate pop up offering a discount (normally 5-10%) to encourage you to complete your purchase. Other sites and eBay will send an email after a couple of days with a discount or from eBay saying you were interested in this item at £x it has now been reduced to £y.

It won't work on every site, but if you are not in a hurry to purchase it is worth a try.

How it works
The basics of the site are fairly straight forward.

To create a post, first find the correct area to post in (for example someone in Newcastle would choose North East). Then choose either the looking for or offering section within than region.

Click start a new topic and pick an appropriate name for your post. For example, if you need help assembling some furniture you could put "Flat pack help needed". In the main post put a description of what you need help with and a general area you are in. DO NOT put any contact details on the post. People can then reply to the post offering help if they can and contact can be made thereafter. It is also useful to add a few keywords at the bottom of your post to make searching easier and more successful.

If you want to offer help with anything, follow the same procedure as above, find the correct area, choose the offering help section, write a good title and post the details of what you are able to assist people with.

It doesn't need to be a specific service you are offering or requiring, if you are looking for some furniture for a first home or you have an old settee you don't need, please post these as well. Everything helps.

Please note that no one should be asking for money for any services on here, if someone can offer something in return then they may, however, this is not a forum to gain paid work. If you would like to advertise your business/services etc you can do so on our sister site here http://www.the-hub.co

There is a separate section for anyone looking to post any fundraising/GoFundMe details.

Once you have posted you can click the link at the bottom of the page to post to Facebook and or twitter, and if you can, include the hashtag #legup

After you have successfully helped or been helped, please contact an admin and we will move your post to the completed section.

Welcome to Leg Up
Hello and thank you for joining Leg-Up. The idea for the site initially formulated some time ago after watching the last leg and they started a twitter campaign to get people involved in helping each other. Due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to set this up at that time, however with what has been happening around the country recently and the displays of heroism and selflessness by ordinary people I wanted to try and do my bit to help.

I hope you are able to either get the help you need or give help to someone who needs it.
